Intro to Shotgun

$50 per participant. Wednesday June 18th 6:30 PM
(2.5 hours)

This course will be taught by licensed firearms instructor  James A. Murphy III Director of Training at Criminal Justice Professionals Training and Consulting, LLC.

 

This course is designed for the new shotgun owner, hunter, or for those who are still considering if this firearm is the right choice for them.

 

In this course you will learn basic firearm safety, NYS legal requirements, nomenclature, loading and unloading of the firearm, and safe handling of the firearm.

 

Participants may bring their own shotgun to learn from.

Intro to Shotgun

Operation

$80 per participant  Sunday June 22nd 12 noon
(4 hours)

After a Firearms Safety recap, Students will learn to apply the information obtained in the Introduction course on the range with actual firearms and ammunition.  This course will be taught by licensed firearms instructor  James A. Murphy III,  Director of Training at Criminal Justice Professionals Training and Consulting, LLC,  along with Certified Range Safety Officers assisting on the range.

 

James will guide each participant in exercising basic firearm safety, safe handling, loading and unloading in this introductory course of live fire.

 

Participants may bring their own shotgun if desired, or shotguns will be available for student use.  Participants must bring their own ammunition:

 

Ammo requirements:

12 Gauge Shotgun

10 rounds of Birdshot #7 and 10 Rounds of #4 Buckshot

​

20 Gauge Shotgun

10 rounds of #7 Birdshot and 10 rounds of #4 Buckshot

 

If students have it, they should bring their own eye (wrap around safety glasses or side shields for prescription glasses) and ear protection (earmuffs only), and a baseball cap.  

 

THESE ITEMS ARE REQUIRED IN ORDER TO ATTEND TRAINING.  WE WILL HAVE SOME ON HAND.
